Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium - Calusa Nature Center is a non-profit environmental educational organization. It offers three nature trails, a nature museum with educational programs, a butterfly aviary and bird aviary and a planetarium. Edison & Ford Winter Estates - Wander through Thomas Edison's and Henry Ford's winter compound. Your visit will include a tour of the laboratory, museum, several homes, a garage with antique cars and a botanical garden. www.efwefla.org

Imaginarium - This hands-on children's museum offers a touch tank, a weather exhibit, a sports exhibit as well as several Florida creatures and various educational lectures. http://www.museumsusa.org/museums/info/1160350

Lakes Regional Park - This one is a write-in, although we haven't been here, we hear it have a wonderful lake with lots of fish, an interactive train, bike rentals and lots of walking and biking trails. http://www.leeparks.org/facility-info/facility-details.cfm?Project_Num=0101

Manatee Park - The endangered manatee seem to flock to the warm waters and sheltered environment around this park. We must have seen at least ten manatees on the morning that we visited.
